• Locality: weak and strong islands, CED, intervention effects, phasality
• Morphosyntactic analysis: e.g. negative concord, A-bar dependencies, nominal modification
• Morphosyntactic (micro)variation, especially in Romance and English dialects
• Grammar architecture and interfaces
• Formal and mathematical definitions of syntactic principles (e.g. Merge)
• Efficiency trade-offs in natural language
